The IEC 60870-5-104 protocol can be used to provide TCP/IP communication between a Controlling Station (Geo SCADA Expert) and Controlled Station(s) (outstations or slaves). Stations that are IEC 60870-5-104 compliant have an Internet Transport Interface between the Application and lower layers.
In order for Geo SCADA Expert to communicate using the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol, select the Connection tab of the IEC 60870-5 Direct Channel Form.
- Connection Type—the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol is designed to be used over TCP/IP networks. Select Network from the combo box.
The following fields are displayed:
- TCP/IP Type—select the TCP type from the combo box.
- Listen Port—the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol does not require a listening port, ensure this disabled.
